How do i Host A Website on my own server?

I have a server, its not a home server. it is a server from a business that was closing so sold it to me. and i wanted to use it at my church to Host A Website. can someone give me info or a link to find out how to set it up to host a website.

probably not a smart idea…. now that I said that I tried running my own Web server sometime back what a pain I found a Hosting company for less than five dollars a month much better deal I did not have to worry about security and other problems that comes with trying to run your own Web server.

How do you make your own server that is capable of hosting your own website?
