Well, I have used zoneedit.com for this at times. I use it when my dns servers are going to be down for a day or 2 while I make adjustments to the machines. It’s free and easy to use.

Is it traditional to buy a gift for someone who is Hosting a shower for you?
My 15-year old sister is my maid-of-honor and she lives out of the country along with my parents. So my Mom’s sister has offered to throw me a bridal shower in her place. Should I buy her a thank-you gift?
I would think it would be a nice gesture. I don’t think she’d want you to go overboard on an expensive gift, but I’m sure she’d appreciate a small token.

Host Servers on Comcast/Verizon?
So here is the deal: I want to turn my old laptop into a web server. I already know about things like LAMP, Port 80, and Static/Dynamic IP’s, but what I really want to know is this; Can I use either Verizons or Comcasts internet service for my server without violating the Terms of Service.
Simple enough… 2 things..
1. Of course be running your web server on your laptop… Apache, IIS server, etc…
2. I would recommend something like www.no-ip.com since you most likely have a dynamic ip address and need a way to locate your site without always having to know your ever changing ip address… That way you can access your server at an address like myserver.no-ip.com etc…
This does not violate your usage agreement… Besides they limit the speed anyway… Your upload speed which is important is probably limited to like 384k or less… So they’re not worried about you sucking any of their precious bandwidth… Its that upload speed that would determine the volume of what you could serve to users. Its your bottleneck and also a huge determining factor in the cost of your internet service… Hope this helps.
