Minecraft Server Hosting

Is it dangerous to host a minecraft server?

I am keen to host a minecraft server, but i am worried about hackers and things that may be able to see my banking details of passwords for things, is there anyone who knows about this?

Financially, no, recreationally, yes. There is such a thing as griefing, go to the Minecraft Wikia and look it up. I’ll post the link below.

It is best to have people you know join your server. Also, make sure your computer can handle the RAM needed to host a server. I’d say around 5G is safe for a few players.

My friend, his lil bro and I all share a server. We’re currently building a detailed town and it’s taken us quite some time. Some structures such as the docks, library or lodge is mostly all wood. All it would take for a griefer is to lite each once and weeks of work will vanish. Make sure you have a back-up system for precautions to your buildings. Be safe and good luck.
